John Hudetz: Wedding Photography Colorado
I’m a full-time professional wedding photographer living in Fort Collins, CO who photographs locally and globally.
When a bride hires me she is handing over to me her trust that my personal vision and how I interpret her day will be refreshing, artistic, beautiful and candid. Because my background is true photojournalism I am working hard to capture the realness of the bride’s day in the most beautiful and unique way I can. I challenge myself to avoid the typical cliché images of wedding photography and explore what new ideas can be found within the naturalness of the day. Except for the obligatory formals and some romantic portraits of the wedding couple I am not giving direction to people during the day. I want everyone to ignore me as much as possible and let me work around the situations of the day to find images that best reflect the specialness of the day. Every wedding is different, and my job is to uncover that difference in the most favorable light.
I’ve been focused on weddings for ten years. Before, I did professional sports photography, newspaper photojournalism as well as magazine editorial photography.
I also do personal photography projects. I have an ongoing project in Cuba.
I’ve been very blessed in winning significant International recognition for my wedding photography with various International awards. I’ve also received recognition for my Fine Art photography and a few years back my work was featured on the A & C concourses of Denver International Airport.
I feel my primary passion is Visual Art with photography being my medium.
There is a lot of study and work that goes into understanding and mastering all the technical aspects of photography. Not only in image capture but following it through the whole process of massaging images in the electronic dark room and then outputting them in final prints or designing where to place them in a commemorative wedding book. All of this is part of the art process.
